future development lots (FDL)

Applying for a future development lot is simple. Below you will find an easy step-by-step breakdown of the process:

  1. You will need to create a free online account, which can be done here.

  2. Once you have confirmed your account, you can visit the property information page to get more info on the available property by going to our property map page and entering the address.

  3. In the upper right-hand corner of the property's information page, there is a "Apply for this Property" button. Go ahead and click the page (if you're not already signed in, you'll need to sign in).

  4. The application is pretty straight forward. Simply answer the questions about you, the address field is automatically filled (if it's not, go ahead and type in the address), under application type select "Future Development Lot," and tell us what your plans are for the lot. Once you've done all that, go ahead and validate and submit your application. 

THAT'S IT!

Here are a few basic things you should know.

  • Applications are due by the first Friday of each month.

  • The review process itself is about six (6) weeks long.

  • If you choose to close in-house with Renew, the closing costs will be $120.

  • After final approval, you will need to pay a $100 processing fee to begin the closing process.

  • Properties are sold "as is."

  • You are not required to develop FDLs.

  • Anyone can apply, but please ensure you do not have outstanding property taxes, pending code violations, or you haven't lost a property to tax foreclosure in Marion County.
